Job description: Senior Applications & Technical Support Engineer – Alton Core working hours are Monday to Friday 7:30pm-5pm. Salary negotiable depending on experience. Main Purpose of the role To test and trial bespokeand standard products for the heavy industries and to support the manufacturing and customer service department with technical information. Roles and Responsibilities To test engineering systems based on product specifications. To review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, assembly instructions and project reports. Liaise with the production department and customer service departments. Research regulations and prove compliance through testing. Analysis and testing of products: structural testing, cycle testing etc. Work with manufacturing to develop products and fabrication methods. Innovate and value engineer products Carry out Engineering and Drawing Checks based on British & Conquip standards Carry out function tests and load tests on prototypes Manage large projects to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are kept Skills Required Knowledge of manufacturing procedures Both mobile and static product application knowledge (Excavators, Trucks, Trailers etc.) Fabrication knowledge (welding, machining, assembly etc.) Hydraulic Systems or electrical systems knowledge. 3D CAD experience (Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX etc.) Good Planning and organisational skills Minimum 5 years experience Key Personality Traits Required Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Accuracy and attention to details. Good, clear communication skills. Have a can-do, problem-solving attitude and ability to work fast paced in a high-pressure environment.
