Most frequently asked interview questions and answers

Questions you will encounter during the interviews;

Interviews are the last and perhaps the most important step before you get the job. Therefore, it is useful to prepare well . Even though your job is different, there are certain questions that we will face in all interviews.

1) Can you tell us about yourself?

This is the essential question of every interview. It is also the easiest and most common mistake. You ask why? Because the Human Resources Specialist doesn’t wonder how many years you were born or how many brothers you had. What the HR specialist is curious about at this point is what lies in your career history. With your educational background, what kind of jobs have you worked in, what kind of jobs you have applied to, and therefore what benefits will you benefit the company; this is actually the part of the expert.

Instead of saying I am very suitable for this job, I will be very helpful to your company, you can ask them indirectly; answer your job, your career background, and your professional skills to she light on the job description of that position.

2) Why should we hire you?

In fact, this is one of the most frequently asked questions in parallel with the previous question. Never, give answers like “because I’m the best person for the job”. Try to make it clear why you’re eligible for this job in connection with your own career history.

3) Where do you see yourself after five years?

Although this question makes you look like a fortune teller, the goal of this problem is to understand your career goals and to check whether your career goals match the job you are applying for. Don’t answer this question like I don’t know or I’ll get married. Answer the question to the expert by showing you that you have been thinking about it before and explaining the common points about your position and your career plan, as well as the benefits it can add to your career.

4) Can you tell us about your weaknesses?

In the first place, you might think why I was asked such a question, or you could go through your mind to say, “Of course I have no weaknesses.” However, this is not the correct answer to this question, nor is it the answer that the HR specialist wants to hear. The purpose of this question is to what extent you are aware of your shortcomings and how much effort you have made to improve them. In fact, if you have developed a weakness, and if you have prevented it, you should explain it.

5) Why do you want to work with us?

The real reason behind this question is whether you really want to be a part of this company. The worst answers to this question will be the following; “I need this job”, “I need to make money”. You should avoid them. Knowing the company, what it does, its mission and vision, you can put forth the awareness of the benefit you will provide to them in parallel with these views.

6) What motivates you the most?

I feel like you’re already on vacation or money. But you can be sure that this is not the answer the HR specialist wants to hear. The aim of this question is how much you can motivate yourself to work and how much you can actually provide to the company. Your response; you may be motivated when you have a specific goal as an ideal employee, and motivating you to develop yourself and your skills. You can add examples from your old workplace or a brilliant moment in school (collaborations, projects, etc.).

7) Is there anything you would like to ask or wonder about?

Generally, the person who answers this question succumbs to both his excitement and his desire to end the interview and says, “Thank you, I have no questions.” However, it should not be forgotten that the answer to this question, in fact, the candidate’s HR specialist “I’ve done research about your company and I’m very interested in this company” gives the message. So you can ask questions about the future goals of the company, avoiding asking very simple things.

If you are prepared for these questions, make sure that your interviews will be more positive. We wish you a pleasant career.
